We had a glorious EXCESSIVE bouquet to paint on May 1st for our CandP May Day Paint-a-Thon. Everyone brought flowers and their art gear, and about 20 people painted or drew for about two hours.
I half expected it to be a rowdy affair with all the nymphs and satyrs waltzing through, but it turned out to be very tranquil (but not at all boring). The late afternoon light streamed in, making all it touched glow with warmth. We even had three extremely good mannered children attend and paint...the sight of the two curly haired blonde little girls poking their daffodils into the arrangement...the light making their hair and daffodils almost incandescant....and the dark eyed little boy earnestly looking from flowers to paper and flowers to paper while he painted....was especially sweet. No one spoke...just the occasional slurp of someone washing their brushes or the scratch of a pencil. Two hours of meditative art. (with refreshments...coffee, tea, a soda or a beer...note my favorite accessory in the photo)

Anyhow, it was so serene and beautiful....we thought we might make it a monthly event.
We could throw together different themes......Shoes and Hats, Toys, Umbrellas and Boots. Discarded Lovers. I thought a Durer style "Cosmic Turf" session would be nice. Any ideas?
no wonder your work is so loose and lovely! I see the beer on the table! I adore your work.....now I.m going to go buy beer and come back and paint!
